Btw remember depending where you live your insurance is different. We have idiot uninsured street racers here like its a damn plague! Civics that can't handle 80mph racing up to 140mph then hitting by standers 24/7

Not really. The Genesis is too big to be a sports car. It's competition is the old Solara or the Accord.

Heh, funny that. I actually got a quote for a FR-S because I was interested in what it would cost me, and it's marginally more expensive than my Camry. Slightly less, if I recall correctly, than what I was quoted for a Genesis Coupe, but that was a year ago.

Also, this. Cross posted from Gencoupe.com.

Wait for those insurance prices to shoot up on the Genesis Coupe soon. Especially if they separate it and classify it as a sports car. Right now I'm fairly certain that they actually classify it in the same category as the 4dr Genesis sedan.

It also weighs as much as an Accord too. Some of us just prefer to not drive 3200+ lb cars. I do like the Genesis, it's just too bad you can't have a moonroof without a womanual transmission.

you do realize the genesis has been out for what 4 years? So I'm still waiting for the insurance to shoot up like the FRS has in 4 months lol. The genesis is faster than an FRS but insurance is cheaper, EVO,STI, and Golf R all faster but lower insurance hmmm wonder why!

Where are you getting this information? My premiums haven't changed whatsoever.

LOL at the guys who were trying to give the driver the benefit of the doubt, hah!

You're spot on. My policy is due 10/31 (FR-S was added while still mid-cycle) and being that I'll be 25 this time around and it is suppose to drop.... it went up!!! Thank you to all who have managed to wreck this car in the 4 months its been out!

Yeah, I was over on GenCoupe for quite a while (was a mod for years up until I stepped down a few days ago) before the car ever hit the ground, so I'm plenty aware that it's been around for this long. Insurance is nuts. The Genesis Coupe isn't classified as a sports car and is lumped in with a 4 door sedan. Makes sense, right? Back in my youngun days (like ten years ago, lol) it was cheaper for me to insure a C5 Vette than my Protege5. My MKV GTI had a higher premium than what I was quoted yesterday, even though I chose a higher deductible and limits. To be fair though, what I was quoted through progressive looks significantly lower than what most people here are paying.

And I'll be honest. Getting pissed and feeling the need to rationalize what you bought because people prefer a car, no matter what your opinion on it is, on a forum about said vehicle, is just ignorant. You're better off spending time on GenCoupe rather than coming here to defend your chosen vehicle. Of course people are going to like the FR-S and BRZ more here.
