Ok i took my car at the dealership for the recall on 3/20/19 miles were 123k and I got it back on 3/23/19 and around this year of 2020 I experienced engine knocking and I have 138k miles on it and when I took it to the dealership on 7/9/2020 they just took out the oil pan and saw metal shavings in the oil pan and they already assumed that i need a new engine. In my invoice it says that they found metal debree but they never mention RTV on oil pick up tube, the car is been at the dealer as of today still trying to fight for it.

This is kinda after the fact, but did your engine have any power mods (like supercharged or turbocharged)?

Its just worth getting an LKQ engine and having an independent shop put it in. Youll save alot of money.

In my fight with my dealership, it took almost 200 e-mails, and 50+ phone calls, 20+ in person meetings and surprise ( unannounced) visits from me, and over 6 months to get something to happens in my favor ( and it wasn't, since they put a used engine in that threw its timing chain eventually)

Most of my phone calls were with corporate Toyota. most of the time, the answer I'd get is "Well we're waiting for so and so" and I'd say " please document in my ticket that I called today asking for a status update and let them know that I have confirmed that this issue is due to poor workmanship"

With my first engine, the tech was quick to remove all debris so nobody could see. With the second one, the manager didn't give the techs a chance and was there when they took everything apart to see it plugged with RTV.
Take photos of everything, be pushy and ask to see it. It is your car after all.

They should replace your engine, I wouldn't ask for anything else though.
