And you cannot convert Yen to USD and expect to pay that. When JDM 86 prices were released USDM owners thought our pricing would start at 33k obviously loom where we are now.

I've owned plenty of high dollar HKS parts and on every single part they got right. 4g63 Hks cams for example, they are priced the same as high lift and longer duration Kelford or BR cams but they just seemed to always work. I don't think any of you have seen the power of an FCon system
either.

The amount of bench racers and people trying to put in their .02 cents but do not own the car on this board is horrendous

I don't sell any parts. Im a consumer with more automotive experience than 95% of people on this board is all. If anything I'll be one of the 1% with a FI car by the beginning of spring so I've been watching these turbo kits and superchargers very closely

I'd rather go with this over a turbo kit, if i have a tune from Visconti would i still be able to use the ecutek for tuning or would the F-Con replace it?

REALLY REALLY GOOD NEWS

I hate turbo kit, because the turbo charger is in bottom of the car, when the car is passing the water.....

The pricing is usually more like 100:1 yen to usd so probably $5000

I am sure you can extract more power out of the kit however Hks have designed this kit keeping long term reliability in mind for daily drivers .

I am not a fan of centrifugal superchargers. They often have the 'lag' of a turbo (although with properly-sized modern turbos, boost comes on very early) without the benefits of a turbo.

Turbos can regulate boost levels by allowing exhaust gasses to bypass the turbine. That allows them to build full peak boost and then hold it over a broad rpm range. Centrifugal superchargers are tied to the crank's speed and can only produce peak boost at redline.

Lobe, screw or other positive displacement superchargers produce boost immediately.

anyone seen the HKS dyno sheet?

I wonder if there are any lo-mid powerband benefits over turbo

if not - then I seen NO reasons sticking to HKS SC, especially considering it's plain centrifugal SC, no rocket science

If anyone has listened to the supercharger on the atmo engine, the exhaust note sounds hiddeous...That alone is enough for me to go the turbo route

The kits other people are comparing this to don't come with electronics I think. If this is a full feature Fcon, those are really nice ecu's. How ever, they are usually only tune-able by a certified HKS tuner. So even if you install yourself, you will have to pay for tuning time unless you can find pirated tuner software.

from the pipe routing, it looks like it includes an intercooler?

That price isn't cheap, but frankly, from HKS, I would have expected it to be more.

How well do piggybacks play with the stock ECU? I know people had a nightmare of a time getting electronics to work with the stock ECU in IS300's.
