What happened to Cosworth support?

I remember back in 2012/13 Cosworth was one of the first major aftermarket brands to really open a development program on the 86 platform, does anyone know why by about 2015 they seemed to not just stop all R&D but production of parts as well?

From what I gathered, it was simply too expensive for what it was compared to alternatives and had a questionable reputation with other platforms at best (despite the name).

Not many people went Cosworth for these reasons.

They stopped their Stage 1 offerings due to shipping costs as well as shotty quality from Nameless Performance (who made their exhaust). I believe Matt@Cosworth pointed out that others did exhausts good enough.

As for their Stage 2 supercharger, I believe it was a combination of low sells, and that Cosworth wanted to begin focusing on electronics and other formula racing stuff again. Though I don't know entirely why they got out. Either way, despite other issues with other platforms, my experience with them has been wonderful.

The question should be, what happened to Accelerated Performance? They released a vid with their turbo kit when the car first came out setting a 11.3 in the 1/4 mile, then never released the kit.

Their prices were EXPENSIVE if i remember it was almost 7K or 8K!!!, while Edelbrock was a lot cheaper and had a warranty and they sometimes had rebates.

But it also offered very similar if not the same performance since theyre both roots SC, although I'm sure that the Cosworth is using a smaller TVS one while Edelbrock's TVS 1320 is a little bigger.

All while costing a lot less than Cosworth and also being high quality.

So it's probably low sales, you hear everyone and see people who are SC'd run Edelbrock and JRSC.

They made a full announcement on here someplace. They were really just moving on to other projects. They are a business no need to concentrate on where the sales are.

Accelerated released their kit. I've seen 2 installed on their customer cars while rolling through Toledo, OH. Not sure if they kept making them, I haven't stopped by there or talked to those guys since.. 2014?

About Cosworth ...

I think there are still some SC kits available and with a better price. They can sell directly now and they can be more competitive. If there is still an interest, maybe they can produce a new batch of kits.
