I know right?! Their was only 1 in a 1000 mile radius a year back, now I have found about 10 in a 75 mile range.

I, myself like IS300. There are few things I hate bout IS300.
1. It's not 6sp (like JP ver).
2. Don't have beam engine (like JP ver).
3. Weight more than I hoped.
4. NA 2JZ is nice... but not enough hp vs weight.

There are few mods ppl do that makes IS300 worth owning.
1. Swap em w 2JZ turbo w Supra 6sp tranny.
2. Shave several lbs of weight to <2,900lbs.
3. Suspension setup need tuning to make weight on front concern.
4. Or for hell of it, I'll put UR engine lmao

And yes, they are heavy cars, because they are luxury sedans. So, idk if thats what you want. I would keep looking for a Miata...

Remember guys, its a first 'real car', not something that could destroy a C6 corvette on a track and in a straight line lol. From whatever this mystery car is, I will jump to the BRZ. So requsits are

Cheap
RWD
Manual
Good lookin
Preformance oriented
Cheap
Not a lot of money
Not too expensive
Cheap

and most important - fun

@Guff I think I just described the Miata (and a z32) hehe

Uhh I've been on craigslist searching for a sports car for a friend, right now he's looking into getting a turbo 300zx... they go for around $5000. Also, there is a couple of 350 V8 FC RX7s for less than $4000. There is a turbo e30 going for $6000 I believe...

Lots of choices.

Then IS300 doesn't qualify in that list. It's not cheap, that's for sure. lol

Hm... older Z, MR2/MRS, 240SX, FC, MX5, & older Supra might be good genre to look into

Only 6 hours away too....

I kid. It is exciting to see a car in that good of shape though; if it turns out to be as such, good luck man!

True. Granted, I guess I'm also used to the crap up here where everyone wants new prices for their used stuff. It's silly

Sounds like everything but the engine has been freshened up though. If you can haggle, that'd be awesome.

----
Actual random thought: I think there's a 240sx needing work in the back yard at my dad's near Tallahassee. I wonder what shape it was actually in lol. Think it was a 95' though and it wasn't pretty.

This is totally what I did for months looking for cars.

Don't know much about the Porsche unfortunately, my brother was going to have a non turbo version of that but we eventually sold it as it was just going to be a pain to fix. Don't really know how nice they are when / if something breaks on it.

Funny story enough, was some dumb kid had a perfectly working turbo version but was complaining he would hear a slight whine from the engine when accelerating. I told my brother to let him know we'd fix it for him for free; free turbo .

Audi TT:
Looked at these too, not terrible I guess. Like the fact it's a hard top. Not sure how much better you'll fair on ebay for one of these. Mechanically I don't know how it'd stack up to your preferences though. I think they're built off the same chassis as the VW Rabbit but with some sportiness; I know a later year model shares the same one as the VW R32, maybe I misread...it's been over a year.

It's front wheel drive though. so eh. pass.

Definitely too much on the g35.

That Sc300 has nearly been to the moon.

And that Rx-7...mmmmm. Love those cars, but yeah. problems. Wonder how cheap you could get it, just not sure how complicated a car that might turn out to be even if you did get it at the right price though.

Quickly went through all of em. Love the 7 color... but man, sounds like that 7 is more of project car than cheap fun car LOL

Love Porsche... but they're not cheap to fix (Due to damn "Porsche" brand).
