i did not have any issues with the belt and pulleys (just 2, crank and ss) that came from KW. I do not know though if the belt is indeed TP1280-8MGT-20 - that info was first posted by @Apoc i think

Clarified with KW the belt is supposed to be 1280.

There may be an issue with my tensioner.

Kraftwerks Supercharger Owners Thread

Email KW directly. It's the easiest way.

Being a vendor on these forums is expensive so most do it sporadically

Havent/didn't change mine. Installed at 8500 miles, and I'm now at 38k miles over a year later, for what it's worth.

I hammered mine flat and haven't had an issue with them. Maybe have some custom ones made with thicker steel?

mmm...

i'm not sure I understood "the exact reason why".

are you saying you used wrench with long lever, pulled as hard as you could to tighten the bolts and then once you pulled the threads you went out to lookup the torque specs?

I don't really know why, everyone I've seen with a KW kit with PROPERLY Tensioned belt hasn't snapped one since so really I believe the issue is mostly due to user error and people being unable to tighten shit enough or too much (that includes fully capable mechanics, the number of times shit has come loose because of improper torqueing even by trained specialist is quite jarring).

People really need to stop the pissing contest between KW and JR. Both kits have their downfalls and both are great when properly installed and tuned.
