I mean yea it looks durable. It's just like the 3M what is it di noc? carbon wrap. It's textured. I mean if you hit it with something it's gonna tear or dent but same would go for the hard plastic silver, it would scratch. What's a little annoying about it is the carbon pattern doesn't flow perfectly between the two pieces. I wrapped my old 2013 dash in the 3M and made the weave line up.

Quite interesting how they just reused the silver dash trims and just wrapped it... Lol

Well think of it from a manufacturing stand point, easier to paint/wrap a pre-existing dash panel than fabricate a whole new design. Plus I do not know how well a carbon fiber plastic mold would turn out.

Of course! Not saying it wasn't a good idea, after all business is business. I wonder if the JDM is the same.

Hmmmm. I didn't think it was a wrap? I have seen the regular '15 and Series.Blue. The regular is a small weave that kinda looks like carbon-kevlar. The Blue is a larger weave that just looks like a plastic mold. It's even textured like a mold. I have the Blue version on my car now. I'll take it back apart and examine a little closer to see if it's a wrap.

Please do! I really want to replace the silver piece in my '13 with darker plastic... though I'd hesitate to buy it if it's just wrapped in vinyl.

Can you make a note of the part numbers too once you've taken them off? Thanks!

Heh. Holy moly. Yep, it's a wrap. Crazy. I seriously just thought it was a plastic mold.

The part numbers on the invoice are 66060CA100-Head Unit and 66077CA100-Above glove box.

Dam I don't know if I want it now, especially when the patterns don't match up like Lexus wood grain trims. At least the silver paint on both of my pieces are matched.
