Stereo + Rear Brake Rattle

I have been searching high and low to find a easy fix to the rear brake light rattling--without actually removing it!

Looking for some quick solutions some of you may have come up with?

I was thinking maybe buy 2 clear rubber stoppers and wedge them under the plastic so that it can't move... not really sure...

Please provide some feedback!

Just deaden the rear deck and cover

Go in your kitchen and open one of the cabinets. Peel off two of those rubber bumpers and wedge it in between the brake light and the back window. ...or just go buy them anywhere for $1.

I was going to buy two CLEAR rubber stoppers but can't find them online because I am probably retarded but will look again tonight.

the rear deck is all deaden with dynamat, but it is not solving the problem of that brake light...

if you put enough mat and then used foam as well it presses the light tight enough against the window it wont resonate

The shop that did my work said that if they did that it might resonate against the glass and create a whole new set of problems for me...

I am thinking to try the rubber stoppers, and if that doesn't fix it then find a shop that will remove it... I am not a DIY kinda guy unfortunately.

So you didnt do the deadning, someone else did? Was enough used and properly done?

I have 0 rattles or resonance anywhere in the car now, the doors and rear deck is where 90% came from. If the rear deck was done right it really shouldnt really need foam pad, but some cases its needs some still.

If you dont mind seeing the stoppers in there tho, sure give it a shot.

It was "professionally done" at a local car audio shop. They said they couldnt get it as good as they wanted (rattles) so he took 100 dollars off the bill (initially 200 for deadening, dynamat, and installation of front dash speakers)

Use rubber gasket and wrap the perimeter of the third brake light? Like those c-channel rubber strips people use to wrap holes in the firewall.
