BRZ vs Mustang - Here is the review the haters have been waiting for.

FT86CLUB Homepage Featured Story

Need I say more?

Edit: Yes, I will say more. It looks like the Mustang's almost $2,000 'Track Pack', 105 more HP, and 129 more lb-ft is only good for an advantage of roughly 1.5 around Willow Springs. That is not a tight track. Most impressive. GO BRZ, GO! But how does the review conclude? Quite nicely, actually.... :happy0180:

Bwhahahah!!! Awesome!

I really do like the Mustang and with the track pack its about the same price as an FRS.

But it makes me think that without the pack the mustang would be slower around that track too...

That's not important to me anyway. I want a car that's fun, small and light with a good shifter and those are things that the Mustang ultimately doesn't have.

Very entertaining to watch. Thanks for posting.

You could see the end result coming from a mile away though. The Mustang is a bigger, taller, heavier car with a live rear axle and more power... a muscle car. The BRZ is a low-slung, lightweight proper sports car. Not really a fair competition, they were designed with different goals in mind from the start.

Interesting to see how the same driver (Randy Pobst) able to actually post FASTER lap time with the BRZ (1:30.32) vs. the FRS (1:31.15) as shown previously in the ignition episode of the FRS review. This really confuses me as we all saw the previous onboard comparisons of the two cars on Tsukuba?(dont remember) by Japanese drivers where the 86 beats the BRZ ever so slightly. I guess this just proves that neither car is faster or slower. All up to the driver's style (grip vs drift)

Perhaps the more important takeaway from Randy's feedback is how he described the driving experience. The lap in the FRS was more lively. Do the FRS and BRZ come equipped with the same tires?

That's pretty much what I was exactly expecting from this review.

And dude is tall, I'm surprised he fit in the BRZ and still liked it.

Which is a larger circuit? I am willing to bet that the BRZ has the advantage on larger tracks that favor grip.

They do come with the same tires.
