Want to know who knows the most about it? The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It is supported by auto insurers (who have an immense interest in getting the numbers right).

Those are the facts.
Not really. They claim airbags save boatloads of lives, which in most cases they could, but they totally forget to document any cases where the airbags cost people more injuries than they might otherwise have had. However, just like having no idea how much the airbags actually did, we have no way to know how many extra injuries the airbags caused.

The fact that airbags save lives is very well documented no matter what the anti safety device league may try to say.

There were 42 million potentially defective airbags which resulted in 11 fatalities and 142 injuries. How many tens or hundreds of thousands of people are still alive because it did work properly?

All the studies and tests are NOT done around one body type. They are tested on a very wide range of types. I have watched it done with my own two eyes so the anti bag propaganda is wasted on me.

If you are in an accident that is serious enough to deploy an airbag then yes of course you will be injured by the airbag. Without it you would be even more seriously injured or dead. To say airbags injure people in accidents is a ridiculous comment.
Not propaganda, just questions. Yes some lives have been saved. Some lives have absolutely been lost solely because of airbags. If airbags were as great as everyone says, why did they have to be mandated? Seat belts were only mandated after basically everyone installed them anyways.

The automobile industry is vastly over-regulated. I see no problem questioning every single one of these regulations.

Anybody pulling their airbag will be able to do this easily. It will be spread across their steering wheel and dash. May be tough to power it back on though.

Several local guys here have removable wheels on street cars. One guy claims he cannot get in or out of the car without removing the wheel. I roll my eyes and say "ok". Seems like a really stupid thing to do.

I know a lot of guys in the Porsche club that put them on their vintage Porsches, but those don't have air bags. They do it more to help keep car thieves away.

A lot of us here have wives and children.

I'm not going to give the insurance company's any excuse not to pay out on my life insurances policies.

Not a chance in hell
