The cheapest one you can find. I see front lips as a disposable item, so no point in spending lots of money. I've had 4 different front lips on my car in a year, both CS reps and STi reps, and they both fit about the same.

Not all lips are made the same. I've had my share of lips too, I'm on my 3rd since I bought my car in 2013 and this current one I've had for about 7 months, however the material really determined the life span of it and the situation. First one broke off after running into a parking lot curb, tore out the screws and scratched the hell out of the lip and had to get a new bumper later for unrelated to be able to put lip #2 in. The first lip was top of the line $250ish CS style polyurethane. The 2nd lip I went cheap and bought it on Ebay and it was ADVERTISED as polyurethane but was actually ABS plastic. The 2nd lip, the ABS plastic one didn't last long. I had to pull over the side of the road for a tire problem and there was a bump that I couldn't avoid when I got back on the road. The lip got caught on part of it and RIPPED IN HALF. Half of the front lip was stuck on the bumper and the other half stayed behind. I got home and was able to rip off the lip with my bare hands and the screws stayed in the bumper! Lip #3 I went back to polyurethane and it's working good so far, I'm avoiding hitting any curbs and stopping my car earlier to not bump into anything in a parking space. Polyurethane is much more flexible and has some give just in case you hit something, while it scratches a bit easier it won't break or rip off. ABS plastic has a little more scratch resistance but will literally shred or shatter if you hit it on something, basically 1 and done. ABS is much cheaper than poly and if it's under $150, it's made with ABS NO MATTER WHAT THE SELLER SAYS IT'S MADE OUT OF. They don't know the difference but they still call it polyurethane when it's actually ABS. Any lip over $150 is made of polyurethane. So it's your choice how you feel about quality over cost. Also, when you do get a lip, it'll come with 6-8 screws, I strongly suggest you get some washers and double the amount of screws to secure it very well to the bumper. It will make the fit more snug and even and have less gaps than the small amount of screws provided. I went to HPT motorsports for the 1st and 3rd lips and that's the best CS style one I've found. -RyanG |

Ditto on the mounting. I use at least double the screws they include. But refrain from using bolts. I'd rather the screws pull out and rip the lip off than ripping the whole bumper off because the lip was too secure.

Thanks for the info, guys. I'm ordering my first lip too. My question is: did you use adhesive tape or just the screws?
