Yep, I remember the prc-6 radio/telephones we had back in the old Army. You could dunk them under the water, drag them through the mud, use them to hammer tent pegs or use them as a club, and they would still work.



PS - OK, so they were heavy and cumbersome

My father taught me the value of good tools. When he was a mechanic in the 1930's he bought Gray. My brother has them and they are as good today as when they were new.
I bought what I could afford when I needed it and so often proved the old adage; "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten."
So, when I had the money I started buying Snap-On. Picked up a lot at auctions but bought some sets new off the truck when they were on sale. Here's a shot of my race box. I love the feel of these tools in my hands.
