Tried to torque it down a bit this morning. It moved a little bit but it was still making noise on the way to work.

I spent a little bit of time and the 350z guys have this problem a lot. They have to pull the axle though and grease it where it goes into the diff.

I'm dropping it off Saturday morning to be looked at. Question should I put on the stock tires. or leave my big fat 17x9 rpf1s on there. Dont need them telling me the warranty is not good on that part since that car has aftermarket wheels and shocks and springs. hehe.

I will say after wrenching it down a bit today during lunch. It seemed worse then it was before. I took the wife's car back to work instead of the frs left it in the garage.

It's the axle nut on the back wheel. The nut in the center of the hub. Take the scion cap off the back wheel

Everyone that has had the CV joints on the rear axle break have reported ticking prior to the axle letting go. I think all cars were lowered and most were autox or tracked.

Mine has never been tracked.. It was just on a 1300 mile road trip though.

So now what do I do if I don't have a large enough socket to tighten it?

Go to the dealer. They torqued mine down today. Still doing it. Go to the dealer right away.

I'm very sure it's not the spring.

I understand that, but I guarantee they will try to get out of warranty work because of my springs.

We've got a manual brz and it ticks when lightly accelerating or slowing, just when you change from throttle on to throttle off. Definitely drive line noise. No autocrossing for us, just hard driving routinely. No lowering, no mods on power, etc.
