Spring poping sound

hey guys, the newbie again.

so after parking and shutting the car off tonight, i heard sounds like spring poping. it was definitely coming from the car, i'm just not sure if this is normal. i drove her a little hard prior to getting home. (4.5k-6k RPM)

could any one give me any insight to if this is normal? did i turn the car off too soon? thanks!

car has 1300 miles, 6MT.

Those sounds are completely normal. What you're hearing is the expansion/contraction of the exhaust and its heat shielding after heating up. That's why you hear the sounds more after driving the car hard, harder driving means more heat and results in more expansion.

Many cars with steel exhaust headers make that noise. It's the sound of a sports car catching its breath after a run.
