Hey guys,

Out of curiosity. Has TRD ever made an after market engine mod that was superior to any other brand on toyota sports cars? From my experience from owning a 7th gen celica. All trd parts such as the headers, exhaust system got owned by other after market brands such as injen etc. I'm not a big fan of TRD coz i think for the price you pay... you dont get much. In Australia we had TRD Aurions and TRD Hilux. They failed. Surpercharged FWD? need i say more? .

Feel free to point out where TRD has done well in the past. maybe the GT4.. I dont know.

Just my 2c.

I hope C-One comes with aftermarket mods for this. I'd rather C-One than TRD anyday

I mentioned in another post that TRD has "fallen off" and needs to get back to its roots and be innovative again so perhaps the AS1 is what they need to do that.

AFAIK TRD has never made their own stuff. they contract someone else to make it and then put their name on it.

Yeah and the demand is not high either. PTuning canceled development on their turbo setup for it due to lack of demand, despite their setup making 400+whp on one.

They did. Put it on the their dyno and made 400+whp with it. But like I said...they shelved it due to lack of demand.

Any force induction coming directly from Toyota or Subaru is probably a pipe dream. They made it pretty clear they are insistent of not doing so.
TRD FT86 just looks like aero kit + 18" rims + brembo brakes. All superficial stuff that anyone else can do.

At least Subaru's STI concept plans to have actual carbon fiber replacements of the frame.
