I'm told Perrin no longer makes a front pipe? Only the exhaust and over pipe?
If so, what's the bennifits of the front pipe? Is it worth it? If it is, where could u get one?
If you go FI, a front pipe with a wider pipe and high-flow or no cat might help. NA, there is no point unless you just want to be obnoxiously loud.

that's totally incorrect, a replacing the front pipe with a catless pipe will reduce restriction in the exhaust and net more power after a tune.

to the OP, i'd shop around, 1500 sounds pretty steep for the catback, OP and intake. There's someone from Tacoma looking to sell his used Perrin cbe for around 675 and you can find used inlet pipes for about 100$ shipped.

cat back is 900, inlet tube is 150~, intake is 250-300~

Sounds like a good deal to me if they are gonna tune everything. Atleast install the intake your self so you will know how to remove the bumper in the future to clean your filter. Or atleast watch them and get the correct tool for the future.

So I'm pretty decided on getting the Perrin intake, and I'm pretty sure I'm going with a Perrin cat back. The only issue now is, do I go with a 2.5" or a 3". And to complicate things even more, do I go resonated or not? I can't make up my mind.
Any thoughts?

I'm curious what people's opinions are on the whole setup? Has anyway purchased it?

My setup: K & N drop in, Perrin Inlet hose, Perrin OP, Perrin CATTED Front Pipe, and Perrin 2.5 resonated catback with OFT Stage 1 Tune. I would just go with the OFT as it is immediate power and you get a quick and easy tune. The sound is very smooth and precise and you will be amazed how well it sounds even without a header. BUT I do recommend a UEL/EL header to see noticeable gains and have a great sound

The 2.5 resonated is a great natural boxer sound, if you go unresonated you will get a lot of rasp especially in the higher RPM's. If youre into that you should go unresonated, the 3.0 is really more for FI or a deep sound but if youre looking at the perrin catbacks you want quiet yet aggressive so I would go 2.5 resonated

Get the 2.5" resonated. It's not too loud and still sounds great. I thought someone was selling a used one in the NW forum.

Sounds like you are set on the team at FTW Tuning, all brand new parts, tune, plus labor it's not a bad quote. I got my 2.5" Perrin cbe from Mike@czp. He was running a group buy on here a few months ago and I have not seen a price lower than his. I'm running a used Perrin CAI from a member and the 2.5" cbe, no tune. No noticeable gains but I will say I feel like it evens out the power band.

I've been told a 3" is needed if I plan to go FI, which I don't. Does that apply if I plan on doing a header in the future as well?

Where do you get this information from?

Since I own a 2.5 non resonated myself I can confirm that it is in no way raspy. Get tons of compliments on it from friends and strangers. Even had people roll down their windows at stop lights and ask me what exhaust I have and what mods I've done to the engine.

Now I can fully imagine removing some cats via header/fp changes could make it raspy.

Not to talk down on the shop, but I remember a thread from someone else who got a tune from FTW and it wasn't exactly the greatest tune (I may be wrong, can't remember exactly).
I know they are reputable for tuning on WRX/STi though.

So I found a Perrin 2.5" Catback on eBay for like $790, brand new.
It's non-resonated. I've been planning on going with a resonator but this would save me some money.
What are the pros and cons of getting resonated vs non?
From what I can tell by YouTube videos is that the non-resonated will be louder, yet raspier?

That's basically it.

You can buy (not cheap) the resonated mid-pipe if you decide you want to quiet it down later, that's what I did - I now have the resonated mid-pipe on the car, and my non-resonated is just sitting idle since nobody appears to be interested in it - in other words, if you can get the resonated, get it.

PM @Mike@CZP I got my resonated perrin catback for even cheaper than that from them. Hopefully they are still selling them for the lower price
