Custom dyed leather seat covers
Hey guys, I was thinking of giving my brz a more premium look and feel by adding SARD leather seat covers. Only problem is I want a color similar to the brz ts interior (saddle brown). Without wanting to spend thousands of dollars to get the color I want I decided it be easier and cheaper to dye the leather seat covers to my desired color. So what do you guys think can it be done and look good? Has anyone taken a similar approach and been successful?

Order some catskinz in a custom color would be the best option probably.
The SARD seat covers are synthetic leather (PVC) so not sure how well trying to dye them would work. |

I did look at Katzkins there nice but they are not seat covers and are priced from 2,000 to 2,500 way out of the price range I want.

yeah, those curvey sides makes it abit hard for fitted covers to be super tight. But i really love my clazzios so im gonna vouch for them. the fit gets better after you wear them in a little. most people cant tell that mine are covers and not custom reupholstery

I used the local Toyota dealership, who sent it to an upholstery shop thirty minutes south. The cost was something around $1860 before taxes, which included the front and back seats in 'mahogany' leather with contrast red stitching. Front seats are heated, which is absolutely incredible if your lower back occasionally gives you trouble. I used to detest the aggressive bolstering, but now it's covered in leather it's just about the most comfortable I've ever sat in. I've wanted brown leather since I bought the car, but it required a small leap of faith as I couldn't find a single picture. Now it's done, I couldn't be happier.

I googled it for a while last night and all I could find was people talking about just how hard it is to properly dye leather or vinyl and if you dont have lots of experience doing it that you should not try it.

Yea I think im going to order the SARD seats see how they look and decide weather or not to try to dye them. The experience part does not scary me much it's like when I first started spray painting parts. Where did you order your seat covers from btw?
