RSX is awsome car. specially the KA Series engine. high rev, good horse power.

handling is good too. but it's still FWD...(handles better than neon or cobalt...etc)

oh thing i hated the most about RSX. it doesn't come with ARM REST...

comparing the RSX to FR-S...

IMO FR-S will be faster and more fun to drive. Subi Engine with RWD.

i can't wait to drive FR-S

RSX-S has variable valve lift and VTC. We will likely only have one of those, so the K20A may have higher power potential.

That said, FWD vs. RWD. They are completely different cars.

We are lighter, have basically a refined S2000 transmission, factory LSD (later RSX-S have this), lower COG, etc.
I thought only the JDM DC5 Type-R had a LSD.

That is true, as far as I know.

I'd say the Type S and the FT86 are pretty comparable. Similar HP motor and similar weight. The FT86 being slightly lighter. The 0-60mph calculator http://www.060calculator.com/ says the FT86 would be faster in a straight line.

But then it also comes down to FWD vs RWD. I also never imagined the RSX, type S or not, to be that spectacular in the handling attributes nor have a amazingly low CG like the FT86.

I think the RSX Type S is a pretty solid entry level sports car, but when you add everything up FT86 > RSX Type S in every way.

Fun factor:
RX8 > GSR > RSX-S

My expectation is:
FT86 = mini RX8

i wouldnt call the cog amazingly low. more like pretty low. its not anything to bother mentioning. i would assume that the frs is going to be better than the rsx but i havent driven one yet

The center of gravity is amazingly low, its one of the most necessary things to mention about this car.

Obviously I haven't driven an Fr-S but judging from the specs I can say they are very close except for the fact the Fr-S is RWD. One of the main reasons I'm looking to buy an Fr-S/BRZ is because of my RSX. It's sporty and fun while also very practical. But I do think the Fr-S will be what the RSX should have been and I look forward to owning one.

how could you not? lower than most super cars around and deff the lowest cog you can get for a entry level sports car

I believe only 2 inchs higher than the LFA?

As an RSX owner, I'll say this:

The FR-S is going to be my next car. It is everything I wish the RSX could be.

In stock form, the RSX only lacked 2 things for me really, a LSD, and RWD. There are some other nice-to-haves like HID headlights, Nav, bluetooth, ipod/mp3 player integration as well, but only the first 2 really mattered.

I modded the suspension extensively with high-end coilovers, sways, bushings, and some geometry adjusting bits, added intake-header-exhaust and reflash, and dropped in a LSD.

The car is great set up like this, well sorted for both auto-X and the racetrack depending on my rear sway setting, basically almost perfect. It rotates on demand on corner entry, and you can spend a 30 minute HPDE session with the revs between 5000-8600 in VTEC and the engine never misses a beat.

I still find myself craving a RWD vehicle. FWD you deal with wheelhop. You are fighting physics. You can't throttle yourself out of understeer. And all that stuff I added was on top of my purchase price, not to mention the sets of tires and brake pads that have turned to dust treating the car like it wants to be treated.

The FR-S has all my the RSX had, plus almost every mod it needed. It only needs said tires and brake pads, probably on a set of 17x8 WRX wheels, to be ready to go. Add an intake (just for the noise) and some tuning so you power doesn't tail off in those higher revs and this car will be absolutely perfect. I'll be damned if I'm not trying to rig a brake ducting system to a brand new car within a month of getting one of these.

I'll be trading in my RSX-S for the Brz. Love the car but time for something new.
