Radium dual Catch Can - FI Install

I have done some search and reading and I am a little confused.


Do the dual catch can get installed the same on a turbo application vs NA?


One can in series with the PCV and one in series with the CCV. (I know VTA is another option however I am referring to closed loop)


Some have indicated a check valve is required on the PCV side.


I am preparing to a Turbo install and want to make sure I understand ahead of time.

Yes it's the same routing, yes you need a check valve on the PCV. I THINK you'd also need a check valve on the breather side. What location are you plumbing back the breather side into the intake?

When the time comes I was going to follow the radium instructions which basically has u disconnect the breather line from the intake tube and connect the inlet to the can to the breather tube and the outlet to the intake. Only difference is I'll connect to the intake tube before the turbo inlet.

Ok, if it's going to be pre-turbo you do not need a check valve on the breather.

Hi everyone, sorry to bring up an old post but this is the exact same question I have however I am a little bit dumber.

Can someone explain to me why you need a check valve after the PCV to the catch can?

I have just ordered the dual system, and I have a boosted BRZ. I have the Tradstone kit.

My kit looks similar to this, with a barb on the intake where I have circled as well:

Is there a turbo guide for the Radium set? Is it the same install instructions except for adding a valve check?

It's not really from the PCV to the catch can, it's from the intake manifold side to the catch can. Obviously with turbo the IM is pressurized and you don't want to pressurize either the catch can or the crankcase.

So i emailed Radium when I posted this and hey said it is not required?
I also noticed in the Radium description it says it can handle pressure? I am unable to find a guide for installing with a check valve it where to put it, however am now very confused with the mixed answers.

Edit: in the product description it says “Note: Because the Radium catch cans are pressure sealed, they are great for boosted applications as well so connecting to the intake manifold is permitted.

Well if they are doing special to restrict pressure from going into the IM connection, I guess you could take their word for it. Otherwise a check valve isn't all that expensive.

Why not just add a check valve? It couldn’t hurt anything
