Opticoat fail?
I just noticed this today.. after heavy rain, in my work garage.
Got opticoat done in March, car has been parked in garage.. Is this sign of failure in just 7 months? i see no beading on roof/ front hood and bumper. Trunk still beads well.. do I need a new coat or is it even worth it? |

Try washing it. I have had problems with that after going to the track, having it all dirty. After I washed it, came back to its normal beading awesomeness.

please wash it like you would, I believe you should see some beading.
typically beading isn't one of the prominent features of opti coat. |

Spray down the entire car during the wash process with something like Optimum power clean 3:1. In the photos the paint looks dirty. Allow the cleaner to dwell on the paint and then rinse and re wash.
If it did fail it wasn't the coating, it was the application of the coating. Your installer should re install then. Cheers, GREG

Are you applying wax and how long has it been that you applied Iron X? There were post before that you just need to remove the wax and other bits so the OC can do it's job.

Get some advise from your installer. The car/paint looks dirty and might need a good cleaning depending on the build up that may be on it.

The reflection on the paint suggest that the pain might be dirty.
Do you wash the car on regular bassis? Have you try to apply something over the opti-coat? If the top two has been yes.. you might want to try light claying a small portion of the car and see if it helps. Opti-coat should not fail that fast. I got mine done at about the same time as you, I park in an underground garage and outside from time to time, the coat is still functioning as when I first got it applied. |
