Very new 2018 BRZ, does this sound like a bad TOB?

Hi all,

I have a 2018 BRZ with 22k miles, was made in March of 2018, so I am not sure if it has the (supposedly not a hoax) revised TOB.

Anyway, just today, while driving around town, I realized that upon pressing and releasing the clutch pedal, there was a noticeable squeaking noise. No abnormal sounds when fully pressed in or fully released. I am pretty good about never leaving my car in gear at the light (I always go into neutral and engage the clutch).

Does this sound like a bad TOB? Or just parts of the clutch pedal pivoting assembly that needs some lubrication? Should I just schedule an appointment with a dealership?

I don't "hear" anything.

However, you may wish to investigate the possibility that the clutch fork is dry and squeaking.

Quick & dirty: from @Ultramaroon

1. Detach the slave cylinder. Leave the hydraulics alone.
2. Remove the dust boot from the fork.
3. Reach down behind the fork with a finger and feel for the pivot. It's going to be tight because of the retaining clip.
4. Squeeze a decent glob of Lucas Red & Tacky #2 in there with your finger.
5. Jiggle the fork to distribute the grease as much as possible. It'll work in more on its own.
6. Put a dab of grease in the top pivot where the slave pin goes.
7. Reassemble.
