GT Radial Champiro SX2 vs. Maxxis RC-1 lap times
Hey gang, I'm trying to understand how much slower the SX2 is than the RC-1. I realize it depends on the track and some other variables, but can someone quantify now much slower the SX2 is?
For example, if I do a 2:08 on a track with the RC-1, what would you guess I would do on the SX2? Thanks! |

The first link doesn't say anything about the SX2. The second link compares the SX2 to another street tire in autocross. Thanks for posting. There is good info in those links, but I don't think they really answer my question. Anyone else?

The turbomiata link states Maxxis RC1 should be about 1 second faster than the RS3. From David's post, the SX2 is about 1 sec slower than the RS3 on a 2-minute course. Putting the two together, the SX2 will probably be at least 2 seconds slower than the RC1, my guess is more than that.

Assuming you're talking about one lap flyers, and cars optimized for each tire, about 3-3.5 seconds. If you're more well versed in one tire than the other, or are more used to higher grip levels, as much as 4-4.5 seconds.

FWIW I'm running the SX2 and typically run about 1-2 seconds slower than similar cars running RS3s on a 2:0x lap. I'm sure more talented drivers could get closer. Too many variables to be a true test, however.

The SX2 is a great tire. It helped me correct a lot of bad habits during my first season. Really good feedback and predictable ceiling. My set is from a 2015 production IIRC. Next time I need to make sure I get some fresh ones! |

How does the RC-1 compare to the RS4 in terms of grip? Longevity?
I really like how the RS4 just lasts and lasts. Decent grip too. |
