Just paid as well. I have a couple FR-S radios I can bring along. I might also have my HAM Radio by then. (Yeah I know... NERD). Anyway I would also like to bring my multi-rotor. Looking at the parking lot I think I can fly it overhead at an angle that doesn't put me over anyone's car directly. I should be able to get some very cool overhead video of our cars & the event space. What I have not not an AR.Drone BTW, its a hand built hobby level model. If I can't bring it, its all good. Looking forward to getting to know this crew better.

I don't mind paying $21 and I'm not trollin' but do you mind if I ask how you came up the registration fee? Having every person pay $21 that shows up a bit much in my eyes. I believe we would get more people to come if it's a pot luck where everyone brings food to share and pay the parking/reservation fee.

Definitely a +1.

I don't mind helping you spreading the word.. However...

I'm curious as how the OP came up with that figure... $ 21/ Person; it's not even per vehicle.

Come on now.. We're talking about burgers and hotdogs & some beverages right?..

On another note:..

OP care to comment and give us the breakdown?.... thanks in advance .

I believe its for the raffle prizes as well? Carparts tend to be pricy these days. Not sure what are the prizes exactly tho.

ticket price is based from the Stafford meet

people who attended the last meet will tell you the amount the prizes and giveaways that was given. and the amount of food too. it wasn't just burgers and hotdogs.

to tell you the truth last meet $21 was not enough. i had to pay 300 out of my pocket.

this is the second big meet im doing so i already know the logistics and how to go about it

I'm not sure if the $21 goes towards raffle prizes or not, but remember that there's a mini car show, and there will be trophies/prizes for that. In addition to the cost of the food and drinks and supplies/condiments etc. Perhaps some of the prizes are from sponsors and whatnot but there is definitely some additional costs that go into putting on a big event like this.

I'm guessing neither of you went to the previous big meet in November that JR and Romie put on, it was actually one of the first meets I attended as a BRZ owner and I was actually very impressed how organized and well thought out it was. Spend a few minutes talking to either of these guys and you immediately get the sense that they are "enthusiasts" in the truest sense of the word, and you won't think for another second that these guys are somehow running a for-profit operation by having this meet. I don't even remember how much registration for that event was, but I wouldn't be surprised if these guys lost a little money (and some sleep) in putting that event together. I'm guessing the cost is a little higher this time due to their experiences from that last meet, and not wanting to be in the hole again.

We of course could go a different route for these meets, and earlier in the year we had open discussions about it -- people suggested having it at a dealership or having a dealership be the major sponsor. At least one dealership offered to do it, and offered the space. I think that of course would mean less expense per participant but it comes with its own price -- less autonomy or independence as a group, not to mention the sort of oddness that results from having both Toyota and Subarus participate in these events. But anyways we had those discussions, and a decision was made to do it this way. I'm not saying you shouldn't ask the question you did, and I'm hoping JR and/or Romie will put all your fears to rest, but as a regular member/participant I just wanted to say, don't worry so much about it, these guys are going to do whatever they can to make sure you have a good time, eat some good food, and enjoy the company of some really cool people in this group.

EDIT: I see JR responded in the time it took me to write this. So I was right, he did charge too little for the last meet. Not fair to ask him to do that again in my mind so let's all try to help out and share the costs. If he somehow ends up with additional funds, I have full confidence he would somehow direct that into prizes or some other benefit for the members/participants.
