Awesome! I might go this route then. Cuz I'm keeping my stock wheels & tires Until it get worn out and make it into a winter/rainy season. I'll put a dedicated grip tires on my new set of wheels. Thank you!

Yep, he told me the same thing when I ordered a staggered set of TC105N's from him. But, on the slim chance that I'd need to use my spare, the sensors would take a beating. I think a custom pressurized container/canister is the trick.

Well this whole TPMS issue kinda pisses me off ...

What's the point of making the trunk "big enough to fit a set of track wheels and a bag of tools" if you have to swap out the damn sensors?

Disappoint :\

You don't have to swap sensors. All it does is turn the light on, it's not that big of a deal.

I thought it automatically engaged traction control if the light came on?

Some cars will prevent you from turning off traction control (Honda) but ours don't.

neutron256 and mla163 – It look’s like you have the ATEQ Quickset tool and have ordered tire+wheel+TPMS packages from Tire Rack… were you able to simply enter the IDs for the new TPMS sensors into the Quickset software and then upload the new IDs to the car? Did you have to have the new TPMS sensors activated?

I ordered an ATEQ Quickset tool last week and was able to successfully read the IDs from the stock wheels. I had read a lot of bad reviews on the Quickset, but with the newer software everything when pretty smooth.

I’ve got a tire+wheel+TPMS package for summer tires coming in from Tire Rack this week I’m wondering if I can simply upload the new IDs or if I’ll have to take the car to a local dealer or tire shop to have the sensors activated.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Anyone got some sensors that clone the same ids as the stock ones (then you don't have to upload/mess with the car at all - either set works)?

The point is to satisfy our inane politicians and liability attorneys.

why not drill 4 holes in your spare and mount them on the rim so they aren't rattling around in your spare if you need to use it? Wheels and tires are coming this week and this may be my next project. Or I could just haul around my stockers in the back forever.

The spare idea is pretty neat, but probably won't work since spares generally are at higher pressures and would trip the sensors.

Also since spares are inted for long storage without loosing air pressure I thing the last thing you would want to do is introduce 4 extra holes where air could leak.

I would just build a pressure container for them if you want to trick the system.

So far I haven't had any problems. I think a lot of the bad reviews for the Quickset were from early on and could be traced to driver issues which have been resolved. I haven't had any problems personally and have been using it for a couple years.

It seems to be working fine for me, but I'll be switching back to summer tires as soon as weather gets over 40F on a regular basis here. I was hoping that would be this weekend, but looks like ill have to wait a bit longer. Once I do, I'll do a write up on the process and how it goes.

I don't believe either of those options would work since the sensors need motion to operate.
