How I got my estimate
+54% of 200hp = 308hp (crank) - 15% for driveline loss = 260whp
+45% of 151ft/lbs = 219ft/lbs of torque (crank) - 15% for driveline loss = 186ft/lbs
Rough estimates of course...

Also, it uses a dedicated oil cooler for the Rotrex unit. Without additional knowledge, I'm assuming this is standard for Rotrex supercharger units? Anyways, it should increase reliability for track scenarios. I always wondered about the self contained oiling systems in these superchargers. That oil has gotta get pretty hot on the track...
Also I forgot to mention that according to them the 54 and 45 increase in HP and torque, respectively. Is using WHP and wheel torque. He said stock they got 185whp. So to do that math you will have to use those numbers, not the crank. The representative of Jackson, mention that all their numbers are to the wheels.

Again, this is coming from them. So if it is true and accurate, it'll be a great option.

Yeah I could've been off on that lol
Sun was too hot. So 4k and 5k, I think that's a reasonable price if their numbers hold up.

185 whp stock is by far the highest I have ever seen, so they must be using some kind of serious dyno correction factor to inflate numbers.

All the more reason why I like the fact that they usually advertise their kits in terms of % gain, not absolute numbers. Plus, starting from a higher stock WHP can only hurt them, not help them, so there's no reason to exaggerate that figure if anything.

They also are apparently using a hub dyno which is fairly uncommon, and likely to lead to appreciably different readings from what we're used to seeing.

Both Oscars (Sr & Jr) did quote the "T-I-Y" kit as a $3995 price point. This included an intercooler, all the necessary essentials AND a SETRAB oil cooler for the SC unit.

Essentially, this is a more economically priced unit than the similar HKS setup, with an easier install (no restriction plate either) and offers us another FI option that I think might be interesting. Here are some of the pics...

What was interesting was Oscar Sr saying that they've put >12000 miles on the car with the kit already and the dyno pack (Hub Dyno) numbers I saw was about 280ish WHP / 218#s TQ (SAE corrected) and was told on two occasions that those were 91 Octane numbers, stock fueling, 9 PSI pulley.

Kit purportedly comes out in Oct 2013.

Looks like its the oil reservoir for the supercharger unit. The accordion looking thing may be an oil filter coming from the oil cooler???

Correct on both counts. You can Google the Rotrex install guide and see a diagram of the full system.

For those complaining about the "look" of the kit in the engine bay: go buy a turbo

The vortech is helical gear driven, the rotrex unit is plentary gear type.... in general, the planetary gear system of the rotrex unit will allow it to use smaller compressor wheels and spin a lot faster than a helical gear driven supercharger.
This comes at the expense of extra heat from the planetary gearset, which is why you see this kit using an oil cooler while the vortech has a simple resevoir system.

Someone correct me if I am wrong
