Bazooka 8" sub question

Hey guys I have a brand new 2015 frs and I am new to the whole aftermarket audio world of things. I thought about getting the oem audio plus but for 1100$ I don't think it is worth it. I already like the way the stock system sounds. So I talked to my buddy and he recommended me to just get an 8" subwoofer. To alleviate the door speakers from bass notes and to clean the sound up.

I listen to mostly rock and country. I like a nice balanced sound. With a fuller bass but not over powering.

I have the new touchscreen head unit without bespoke audio of that makes a difference. I found this
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_204BTA8...HC.html?tp=114

and was wondering if it will work kind of like a plug and play system. And if you guys would recommend this setup due to lack of space and my sound preference.

Thank you guys.

This looks as if it could be close to plug and play. You'll want to read the thread on the amp in the back. It's listed in the directory. That harness could be piggy backed off it. You're still going to need to power the sub too.

I've got an 8 inch bazooka in my 2013 BRZ, with the right adapter harness, the only thing I had to do outside of plug and play was connect ground to a support bar in the trunk.

Thanks very much guys! I really appreciate it. After further talking with my buddy he said the same thing. So it should be real simple and sweet! I can't wait to do this mod!

Also did you need to strap down the bazooka or is it big and heavy enough to just stay in place?

It's round and hard plastic. You'll need to strap it down.

Strapped it down. I have it attached to my aftermarket trunk cargo liner.

Just ordered the OEM Audio+ reference system so my Bazooka will likely be going up for sale once it's swapped out.

I ended up upgrading to an OEM Audio+ system. I moved the Bazooka to my Jeep and it works fine. It's not high end, but it works well enough.
