especially if there's any ethanol in the fuel - I'm not talking E85, just the 10% thats quite common in pump gas these days

however these guys do an E85 pump

so might be an idea to swap?

cue loads of people now saying DW 65 is the best pump ever and they have fitted onto every car they own.....

Heh lots of people have had good luck with those pumps, lots of people have had bad luck. They are Chinese made cheap pumps so it's hit or miss.

Hole in the piston is detonation. To me if you are running 91 octane using FI on this car, especially using an off the shelf map, you should be 100% prepared for the worst. Personally I would never push the car on 91 period, but if I had to I'd definitely get it tuned locally.

This kit looks excellent. Definitely filing this under the possibilities file for once I pay off the car at the end of this year.

I've been watching this build on and off for a while. When Cosworth talked about releasing this kit I got pretty interested in it, but I would like to use it in a different application....

I also saw there might be a KC meet up with the OP (from Denver) heading that way. Shit, maybe I will take off of work early and come down for a night. I live up in Omaha, NE. It would be nice to meet some FT86 cars outside of Nebraska and Minnesota

If you want to use the included inlet pipe, you're limited to the stock airbox or something like the Perrin that replaces just the airbox (their CAI, not their inlet pipe). The Perrin 3" (Big MAF) CAI would be a good match for this but would require editing the tune for the revised MAF scale.

The more the merrier! We're a fairly active group in KC, so we have various meets that would be a good fit. May 17th we're meeting up with the St. Louis 86 group and the Springfield, MO 86 group down in Osage Beach, MO for lunch. You're welcome to join!

I plan on heading back to RPM (or MAM, whatever you want to call it) at some point this year, so you could always check the car out on track as well.

what about the airaid?

is there an e85/flex fuel tune for this as well?

trying to compare/contrast to sprintex for which i'd like to install next year. planning for track use.

Yeah don't get the sprintex for track use. It has well documented thermal issues. Intake temps quickly rise to the point were timing gets pulled. Either that or you run dangerously high temps.

The cosworth sc on the other hand, according to Cosworth themselves, never sees more than 10C post intercooler charge temps. It was designed to handle ~350hp planned for stage 3 internals.

Awesome and thanks! Yeah, the name changed to RPM but most people still know it as MAM. The Ice Cream Cruise (ICC) for Omaha will be at RPM this year, which will make it more convenient for those that want to use the drag strip.

Not sure, you would have to email them to find out. If you can use their airbox with the stock inlet pipe, then it would work with the cosworth supercharge inlet pipe. If not, then it probably won't work either.

Definitely don't get the sprintex for track use. I'd go cosworth or jackson racing.
