10,000 sq foot facility is small.. Access to the ring doesn't mean much either cause I could see public track days, other brands booking the track , rain and snow in germany making the track difficult to test on. Seems like a marketing move so they can put "fine tuned at nurburgring" in commercials or nurburgring edition badges on the back of velosters and gencoupes

Eh, who knows, maybe Hyundai is building a proper sports car? They sell just about everything else and most of those cars kick ass in their segments.

The way I see it, Hyundai has been doing a complete overhaul of their product lineup one major aspect at a time. So far they've developed class leading engines, transmissions, interiors & exteriors, safety cells, chassis, warranties and feature lists. If they are now moving to developing suspensions at the ring I wouldn't see any reason to buy anything else. After test driving a couple of their present offerings I've been VERY impressed. At the moment I plan to replace my winter beater with a Hyundai.
I know I sound like a fan boi, and maybe I am a little bit. Mainly I've just really enjoyed watching the underdog win. |

Hyundai is doing extremely well! I absolutely love the Genesis Coupe, its the only other affordable car that can compete against a 370z. If they could tweak the suspension better to handle cornering like the FR-S. It would be a game changer.

its nice to see a manufacture grow like this, Hyundai has gotten pretty far with their development, and its really thanks to their supporters. I cant say im a true supporter because iv never bought or even wanted to purchase any of their vehicles, but i do love what they been doing.
I am slightly worried about developing a car using The Ring as a base for its initial setup. vs developing a car and having it go through a series of tests on The Ring to confirm its initial settings. IMO seems more marketing ploy to me, unless Hyundai is interested in getting into some serious Manufacture Motorsports in the next 5 years. Imagine a pol position Hyundai leading the pack on a class during 24hendurance or FIAWEC...waaaat!

Hyundai is building better and better cars for good money. They are def. going to improve. I'm sure the Hyundai Genesis Coupé replacement will be a very nice car. |

i like what hyundai has been doing. nurburg is not worth talking about. im pretty sure that the tuning at that place pays dividends off the track more than on. i think its a good place to test a vehicle and i think their little facility is enough for what they need to do there. the ring is the most overhyped thing in the auto industry right now and lap times provide less information than 0-60 times.

I have had a Tiburon and a Genesis Coupe and I really can't say enough good things about them. They just continue to surprise me everyday and I wish nothing but the best for that manufacturer.

The 'Ring has become a lot more welcoming to manufacturers in recent years. Perhaps their financial trouble has necessitated this. I wonder what it costs to get some private access to the facility.
Oh the things we'd do with an unlimited budget... |

Every time I see a Veloster, I think of a 2nd gen CRX. If they'd put some effort into the dynamics I think it would've been a game changer for Hyundai.
They are getting close, but always seem to miss something major...

The Veloster Turbo is a better attempt. 200+ horsepower and a lot more refined details, but still on the cheap side.
