Some of the fastest Toyotas in the world are built in Puerto Rico. I don't know how you guys do it over there, but it's incredible! (I wish I could move there or to New Zealand and get help building my 4A-GE!) I'm confident if you talk to the right people you can get a turbo on this car and make the power you're looking for. Best of luck!

P.S.

In going with turbo myself, check the Full Blown kit thread and tell me that's not impressive.
Thanks I will like to go so just keep me posted! I am still undecided between turbo or supercharger... So we talk later on this decicion.

same concept as the FR-S, lightweight chasis but with a lot of inventive and crazy people lol I see Starlets doing 6's in 1/4 mile all the time and the fastest street Hyundai was from here (officially), a 96 Accent fully street doing 9's.

With a couple of mods, this car CAN put out over 200 whp. A good flowing intake solution, one of the quality header-back exhausts, and a good tune (e85 preferred), and you will be putting out over 210 at the wheels.

Turbo potential? INSANE. With as high as this engine can rev, and as well as the heads actually flow, it is begging to be turbocharged.

Compare it to a $50,000 car and it will lag, but if you put $3500 into a turbo you are still at around $30,000, not too bad I would say.

Why do people think turbo setups are so cheap?

The cost for a solid/reliable turbo set-up, plus tuning, plus supporting mods, is more like 6k-10k+.

That makes the ECU flash ($1k) for 20hp downright reasonable.

Ja of course Mine FRS, did you see it. I bought the Showroom model it came with Hijoin Wheels from taiwan so I am sure I am the only one in Puerto Rico with this wheels. Aslo the factory gt86 spoiler... I think my FRS is the sexiest car ever but I just need more power just a little more arouund 240whp and I will be the happiest guy in Luquillo PR... Bumm,m

And just with a couple of modifications they are around the horsepower of the FRS. I come from VW GTI Turbo that with a couple of mods I am around 220wp. Now I need $3500 for a turbo or supercharge to be around 240hp thats a lot of money buy I need this bad I believe the car is under power just my opinion.
If you were looking for a car with pure power and a solid price, the Mustang GT and Camaro SS are the best bang for the buck. I was considering the Mustang GT, but I bought the FR-S while I wait for the 2015 Mustang GT.

I was very skeptical if I would like the car when I bought it, but I grew to really enjoy it. For a daily driver it has plenty of power, and how often does anyone really use the full power of the engine.

I really think it has plenty of power as it is. When i first heard it was only going to have 200HP i didn't care for the idea, but gave it a chance cuz my friend kept telling me about it and it was really the only car around 200HP that will get 30+MPG. Well now i own one and drive it everyday and love it! Honestly i cant use all that power on the street or i'd be getting tickets all the time. No longer see the point in adding more power. I bought it for being my DD and it is everything i wanted and has exceeded all of my expectations.
