Those look waaaay blue-er than my 6000k it maybe the brand or the camera not picking up the light properly. But I've had two sets of apex cone 6000k now and they both were pretty much dead on white to me with the ever so slightest blue. I actually won't even really call it blue even. I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

Thing is, a lot of times, 6k doesn't look all that blue untill you actually stick them up to a 5k bulb or lesser.. Then you really notice the difference.. I thought my 6k where white with a tinge of blue, and like I said the difference driving between the two is a huge difference to me.. Like that article I posted stated, some people can't tell a difference in the lumens or whatever.. I could, with 6k it's like I lost all depth..

The 6k is almost dead on to what white LEDs are if you look at the switchbacks, they have the same-ish tint, but up to the 5k on the car you can't really pick out the difference

I've stuck them next to OEM factory Mercedes and BMW xenon lights, (4300k?) My 6000k arnt blue but really white. I see the yellowish in the merc / BMW xenon's and the 6000k is pretty much white.

I'm just curious if certain brands color rating is just off. Mine maybe labeled 6000k but in fact closer to 5300k perhaps?

I want to see a 5000k now. Maybe someone will have it at a meet or something

4300 is suppose to be the best as far as light output or whatever.. And it's true different companies are different colors.. The 6k are DDM.. The 5k are TRS I think... But don't quote me lol... That pure white is 4900

Actrually, I was trying to not use LED's for my DRL's/hi beams, since I want the hi beams to be functional. I hear hi beams are pretty much non functional if you replace the drl/hi beam bulb with LED's. Sorry didnt mention that on my last post.

I'm surprised that no one's mentioned putting in H9 bulbs.

Though I suggested this before and no one has tested this out yet.

Double the lumens of the H11 and around $15 for two bulbs: Amazon.

Downside? A nub has to be removed from the H9 bulb, the bulbs have a shorter lifespan and wire temps are raised (although proven in most cases to be safe).

Very satisfied. You can definitely tell the difference between stock side markers and headlights...

I picked up the base Silverstars, not the ultras for about 35 bucks at Advance. Definite improvement for me, and not obnoxious for others on the road.

I can confirm that installing LED DRL's will eliminate the high beam option.

And in the case of my xB, they flicker ever so slightly at low beam but not at high beam. Fortunately this does not occur on the FR-S.

Thanks for the input! :happy0180: So, would regular replacement white bulbs be ideal?
