A 4AG swapped into one of these would be excruciatingly slow.

At least it'd be a Toyota engine :P

And hey, I said revised!

They're not THAT bad, and if Toyota fiddled with them ie added VVTi and upped the compression maybe added their D4 injection system... Could have been pretty cool.

In the short term, yes. But that is the beauty of the free market. Just wait until SEMA rolls around and see what all comes out. Last year the Camaro and 4 door Wrangler were the HOT cars but I am betting the FRS/BRZ will be everywhere this year.

The Turbo is water cooled. However I have not got the fittings to plumb it yet. As far as the waste gate goes. My car is open and will remain open, but recirc is an option. The kit will have a few options and upgrades .

A knock limit on a GT25 may be 6psi, but upgrade to a GT30r and you may find that 8-10psi is safe.
Yes, but that isn't the point of what I said. Setup A set to 3 psi makes X hp. Setup A set to 6 psi makes Y hp. In basically any case assuming good tunes, 6 psi on setup A will make more power than 3.

So to a point there is reason to spout off hp guesses, because obviously there is a limit to how far we can push this engine in reasonably stock form. But, shift what you consider a reasonable safety of margin, up the boost a hair, and you are making a different level of hp.

Imagine if they'd reworked/revised the 4AGE for the new 86... If only. Im waiting for someone to drop a 4AGE-F20C-SR20DE/VE combo into one of these. 2J's are cool and all - but they're a little bit of overkill...

Just a tad.
You did say revised, but you also said ^^^^

Sorry, I guess I was confused because you threw in all those other engines that actually exist and could be possibly swapped in.

Water fittings not fitted yet? Are you going to dyno and tune the car tuesday without them?

Slow FRS, I agree with the pros you listed, however if you properly seal the draw through, and run a by pass valve, then you maintain the advantages of blow throw, with the additional benefit of increased off boost throttle response.

There is no issue with this, you can run a water cooled Turbo on just oil, also with the location of the turbo so far downstream the cooling isn't needed

The bypass doesn't quite do as well, and yes the harness would have ha to been extended toward the back of the engine where te intake is, gotta also remember what I said about the IAT sensor being on the maf

I only stated engines with chain-driven 86x86mm construction
