Ugh scratched the rear panel of my FR-S

Whats up. I was pulling out of my driveway last night and didn't see my mom's huge ass black suv parked off to the side. I basically reversed and scraped the right side (behind the gas cap mostly on the plastic but a little nick on the metal right behind the gas cap). Minimal damage on the suv but the FR-S has a deep scratches in which I can see the bare plastic, maybe 3 - 4 quarter sized areas in which the paint is stripped, and then scratches along it, no dents. I'll post pics when I get out of class, but how much do you guys think the fix will be? I'm a broke college student AND I GOT THE CAR 2 WEEKS AGO. Its red btw.

Is it just the rear bumper that was damaged? If so shop around I got mine repainted for about $420 but I'm in NJ so it might be cheaper or more expensive

Yeah mostly just the rear bumper (plastic) but there is a tiny nick on the metal behind the gas cap which I think can be touched up.

Has that area already been repainted once before? Looks like lots or orange peel, might just be the light. If it has been repainted once its easy if the same bodyshop does it and they may not even have to blend it?

bumpers never match the body anyway so no blending would be needed, but sanding and painting of the entire cover is needed.

You just bought a brand new car, can't you cover the cost of repainting a bumper?

I never said I couldn't :P I was just wondering what I should expect to pay for the repairs, I'm taking it in to get some quotes tomorrow.

Dear broke college student ...... I totally agree with @WhiteFRS69.

You can always have it repainted after you graduate college, and get a job, and get married, and buy a house, and have kids, and after the kids are put through college and you retire. By that time, you won't give a damn about it ....
