vs 2013 Dodge Dart
Most of you are probably like what Dodge Dart? Isn't that a classic muscle car?
Well yeah it used to be. Turns out that Dodge is making a Dart once again, and introducing it at the NAIAS as a sport compact. Here is the link for more info on the Dart - http://www.dodge.com/en/dart/ Now, the reason I chose this car to compare because they claim this: Quote:
Edit: Sounds like they are taking straight jabs at the AS1 Quote:

I'm not sure about a direct competitor. But I will say that it fits into the same general mantra of "smaller and sportier".
A few things kill the Dart for me. FWD and Dodge are the predominant ones, the turbo sounds like it might be the enthusiast option, but at only 1.4L who knows how tuneable it will be. I'd prefer the GT86 over it of course, but if it were RWD, the choice might be a little harder to make. |

It's aiming at the Cruze and Fiesta. The Cruze Eco with Trifecta tune and intake makes close to 200 crank horsepower, not too shabby for a 1.4L that gets almost 50MPG (in the real world).
Trifecta tune 93 octane, no other mods. |

But, they do have 3 engines to choose from and different interior trims. Thing is, I best it will weigh a lot. Prolly 3000lbs+, also having 4 doors. But if it were to be RWD - it would be pretty good direct competitor.

What a joke comparing this to a GT86. Here in EU we have this car for quite some time. It is called Alfa Romeo Giulietta. In terms of driving experience it is worse than my Alfa 147. Quality is not any better, it is still far from any german. An price is high, 32.000 € for an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde with a +200 PS Turbo 1.7l I4.

Dodge by definition: To avoid (someone or something).
Why would you buy a car whose name literally means to avoid??????

No personal experience with Alfas, but the Brit car mags sure rip on all the utilitarian Fiat family cars for crap quality. They make it sound like Chrysler was saved by the Euro Chrysler.
Any insight from people with experience? (Yes I know, the Brit car writers can be rather biased and nationalistic...)

i've owned many Chryslers over the years and have family members with them (SRT-4, 300C Hemi, 96 Viper GT, numerous Caravans). They make for great company cars (lol) but they are horribly built and you definitely get what you pay for... actually some would argue you get less than what you pay for.
So many buzzwords in that press release made me scoff... Advanced Technology, Groundbreaking style??? I feel bad for saying all this since I really want our American car companies to do better. |
