Not a great pic, but here is the inside of the sleeve.

The quill on my spare trans is in good shape and measured a tick over 1.292"

Exedy bearing ID is 1.309", hard to measure though since it is plastic. The width of the inner bearing "race" measured .752".

The inner sleeve on the BG has an ID of 1.306". The length of the sleeve that rides on the quill measured 1.387". I have a little mixed feeling about the grease groove but I don't think it will be an issue.

i've got mixed feelings as well. once one starts using the clutch, that dust is going somewhere, most likely right into that dab of wet grease...

That is the main thing I don't like. I may grease it lightly and drop out the transmission at the end of the year and see what it looks like.

when i saw that part of the video, i started wondering about using a dry lube instead. but that still negates the grease-holder lip.

Yeah. I’m kinda wondering about the dust globing up the grease and getting it flung around. There’s enough room on the back section lubricant impregnated plain bearing would fit. I’m not looking to redesign this for them though but I will message them my opinion on it after I have some time on it.

Silicone based greases don't grab dust in the same way petroleum ones do. Worth using if you can find an appropriate one.

i can't decide if my bearing is starting to have issues, or i'm just not driving the car as much. there's times where the clutch pedal feels 'notchy'. zero noise, just a feeling in the clutch pedal that could entirely be an unfamiliarity with not using the car every day.

in any case, i ordered the full verus/bearing kit. just need to come up with the retention clips.

i don't buy all the snake oil they're selling, but feel the lengthened bearing carrier should definitely help keep the bearing aligned with the clutch fingers much better than the bearing alone. and the obvious bearing shielding should definitely be an improvement as well. though despite lack of details on the 'low friction coating', i figure any coating ought to be better than no coating.

I put an order through for the full kit with versus fork. Seperately ordered an exedy OEM clutch/flywheel.

My 2017 has 75k miles with no idea how long the "revised" TOBs actually last..

Kit does NOT come with the clips. You need to buy the 3 clips separately from the dealer.
