Some analysis I performed from the event on Sunday at VKC,
Pre event shows the categories that people selected before the event, and post is actual results based on fastest lap, then I sorted that per brand of vehicle, |

This is a competitive event, time attack format, and is as safe as it gets if you want to put your toe in the water with a competitive event. Day entries are welcome, cost R750. Spectators free. Forum members who will be competing are @FT_86_SM_GP @LostSalad and myself, in classes NA, N0 and T2 respectively

I've decided to go up to RSR on Friday morning and put in some practice in the afternoon.
Friday is an open cars/bikes day, and they only charge R300 for the afternoon. The track is back to clockwise, so I could use some practice to get familiar with it again. I'm also going to stay over on Saturday night to avoid having to leave early and/or drive home in the dark

Nice practice today, only about 10 cars, all racecars.
The fastest was a Comsol VW challenge car [Devin Piasso Musso] which I held off for 4 laps, albeit with difficulty. Last time I diced those VW Challenge cars was the Pepper Racing team at Midvaal and I was 3-4 sec/lap slower than Tasmin Pepper, Shaun La Reservee and Trevor Bland. Thrilled to be more competitive despite still having a small power disadvantage. I managed several 2m17.x laps today, best 2m17.2, but I'm determined to break into the 2m16's tomorrow.

I take it your brakes did fine in the end? I must say, this way around seems to be a lot harder on brakes than counter-clockwise... or maybe I was just pushing a lot harder than at P4P |

All my photos are here, you should be able to download them by clicking on them and selecting download. Don't think it's the best I could have gotten, but they didn't allow us to get onto the inner circuit where I could get to the slower corners.
Here is a photo of each: |

Umm, brakes were OK'ish. Not great, but adequate.
End of life pads and end of life fluid, so I guess I shouldn't expect more

This was my quickest lap.
You'll hear me muttering in the background a few times. That's because the power steering dies after a few hot laps with sticky tyres and it becomes hard work for an old man [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YT4chvPbXZ4"]Red Star Raceway 2m16.7 Michelin Cup - YouTube[/ame]
