I changed trans oil a few days ago with jackstands and the bushing looked somewhat difficult to remove. I was thinking of installing the Perrin bushing myself but not sure it'll be worth the trouble. Let me know how you make out.

I did mine with the jack stand over the weekend. Definitely doable. Of course someone with a lift will have a much easier time.

I don't mean to thread jack but how are you liking the bushing? Is there a noticeable difference?

I'm running Motul 300 in the tranny and diff. It's ok, still notchy. The biggest benefit came after I installed the Perrin Shift Bushing, now that's a mod that's worth its weight in gold.

I changed both the fluid and bushing at the same time and have driven the car one time since. It does feel before than before but I can't say it makes a dramatic difference. For the price I think its worth it and its easy enough to do.

Absolutely.

We use Gear300LS in our diff; it slightly alters the engagement characteristic of the differential.

I've put ~200mi on the Pentosin fill and I've got to say I'm not that crazy about it. It feels too thin ... wish I went with something a little thicker like Torco MTF or Amsoil MSTF.

I'm running the Motul Gear 300 in the trans and dif. The first 4500km (2800mi) was great- then one morning the car just wouldn't go into 1st. Not at all. Had to warm up the car and then it would barely shift into 1st, but most of the time it would feel like the gate was closed. It has been a week since that time and I'm usually able to get into first now but its very notchy in 1st, and somewhat notchy getting into second.

How long does the Motul Gear 300 last between changes? I was planning to change the fluid once a season, but at this rate it looks like I might need to change every oil change?!

Street driven oil should last at least a year or 25K miles.

Does autocross considerably Shorten the life of diff and trans oils?
