Another kit dyno'd by a 3rd party:

Both are great kits. HKS make a little more power in the mid range while the Vortech makes more at peak rpm.

Hmmmm...that's a tough one. Since these units come with the self-lubricated V-3 transmission and gearcase, and we only ever made the (louder operating) spur gear units in engine oil-fed and not self-lubricated...that makes the possibility of that seem hard to come by.

in all honesty the reason people aren't posting up driving video's is because a turbo car would smoke this kit. That is until you put it on a track. The car is very easy to drive very fast. The power delivery doesn't make for the greatest video but I will try to post up a quick go pro tomorrow. I will also go over my particular car and why I decided to go with Vortech over the Turbo option.

I'll have video on street and track with my Vortech as soon as:
-just installed oilcooler again(testing was done without for OE compatibility )
-new tires are mounted
-get alignment after psrs, threw out my toe alot
-its stops raining and snowing
-I get down to the valley altitudes
-I'm betting most any SC will out do any similar budget turbo on the track after the 2nd lap, yes your peak HP early on may be higher than mine tho

Please do I'd love to see a video of this. Especially a track video, where this kit will really shine.

I'm sorry Gem, but this comment is completely baseless.

There are so many subtle jabs at turbos in your posts, it's ridiculous.

You seem to believe that ALL turbos magically run out of breath up top and that's completely not true. That said, I've driven a Vortech supercharged 86 and it's nothing extreme in the power department (even with a 10psi pulley). It still loses torque up top. This motor simply doesn't breathe well above 6500.

Now, your comment of peak HP being higher, but the SC still winning on the track ... doesn't make sense. HP is a calculation of torque, and usually a higher HP number means more torque higher in the rev range... which is coincidentally the rev range you will be in... at the track.

Gem none of the turbo kits for this car are sized so small that they can't hold 10 psi to redline. You are describing the behavior of some stock turbos. What are you talking about. All of these turbos could hold 20psi to redline. I notice you like to make up random facts... please stop.
