I like my CSG MXP cat back for sound. I appreciate how it's different and goes into the side of the suitcase to balance the exhaust pressure exit and shorten the tube length a bit and save some weight. Rest of exhaust is still stock. Just a sound comment for reference.

Also, OEM is EL header, so a change to a UEL will definitely change sound.

It is too quiet, but be careful because if you add a cat-back they go from quiet to a bit too loud without the stock FP.

I have this, with STi type hangers, on a stock manifold. Love it.

Suggest you check availability of E85 in your area before going that direction. It's plentiful in some towns and almost nonexistent in others. There's only one station in my town, which is why I went back to 93. Even if you can get it locally and plan to make a trip, you'll need to carry a couple containers of E85 or flash back to 93. I keep my OFT in the car all the time.

Or don't cheap out and get a Flex Fuel kit then not have to worry about it.

Chiming in to say that yeah, catless header + stock catback or stock midpipe w/ suitcase style axleback will get you where you want to be.

My setup is JDL 4-2-1 EL header, stock FP/OP, stock midpipe and the DC Sports axleback.

I had an Invidia R400 before, it droned like hell. Stock catback was too boring sounding for my taste. The DC has been the perfect sweet spot of extra tone and character without any drone.

Sound clips:

I have a Borla suitcase style muffler and with a catless EL header and stock midpipe it’s way too loud and it drones. Disappointing and I’m looking for a solution. With the stock header it sounds perfect. I wonder if the DC sport would be much quieter than the Borla. The Borla unit is huge and heavy.

DC muffler seems like next best option to the CSG touring if you want a less expensive alternative.

I am very sensitive to drone, tried a bunch of different setups and many would give me headaches and ear pain, but this setup does not. Full 2.5" system, CSG CBE is technically larger. Briefly reverted to the stock FP and setup is even more tame in cabin. Wanted the FP to add a bit extra.

2.5" OP
Ultra quiet Catted resonated FP
