OBD code P0172 anyone suggest causes?

Spoke with the person who tuned my car last year. I told him I am getting P0420, P068, and P0172.

He told me he usually disables P068 but had forgotten when he tuned my car.

He did point out P0172 is unusual and might be a mechanical malfunction (says "running rich bank 1" online when I looked it up. He suggested he will flash the code disable that he can and I should do a 1 hour road tune with him to make sure everything is OK.

If I could find something that could cause the P0172 before I see him, what might I look for??? My thoughts were exhaust or intake leak. What sensor measures rich condition, the foreward O2 sensor?

Thanks in advance.

There's no p072. P0172 is the rich bank 1 code. That can be lots of things, MAF problem is common. Unichip can throw that code with some intakes. What intake do you use?

P0172, correct. I have the V1 HKS supercharger which has an HKS racing suction type intake. Maybe my tuner needs to check MAF voltages or rescale? Thats what I thought the original tune would have done.

I had a oiled air filter for 2 years without issue before the S/C. Using MAF cleaner seems like bs but I could try it.

Update: Opened the intake to clean the MAF. It was literally caked on with gunk, probably a combination of fine particles and oil. I had issues with leaky AN fittings where the hoses entered/exited the sandwich plate. Disconnected the oil cooler weeks ago until I can source replacement hoses and properly sized fittings. So, this must have caused the mystery P0172 code.

Best news, did a road tune today for 1.5 hours with Sasha at Onpoint to see if my dyno tune from last year is holding up and to switch off the cat related codes. Lots of adjustments and calibrations, and the car feels 100% better. For anyone that has invested in a custom dyno tune, especially with Ecutek where there is a fair investment, don‘t avoid an update road tune a year or more later if your tuner thinks it might be helpful. For maybe 15% of the cost of the tune it is a good measure.
