Anyone else think this thread is funny? There are already a ton of us who are coming FROM supercars. Think a better question would be "Are supercar owners future FT86 owners?" :P

I've been pretty surprised by the number of supercar owners who own a Toyobaru. I think it's awesome! Says a lot about the car, IMO.

This car has too much broad appeal to determine what the majority of owners dream of. All you have to do is flip through the two pages to realize that people here dream of Lotus and Mazda and Acura and For and Lexus and any number of cars, but I get the idea, the people here aren't too focused on track times and numbers, feel and and experience and fun take priority and recently Ferrari/Lambo have been banking on the name and a unique package.

In regards to the OP the only Ferrari built in the last 25 years I'm interested in is the 360 and this is the only Lamborghini I desire:

So odds are I will not own a Ferrari or Lamborghini much less one built recent or in the near future, sorry.

If I could find a Miura for a decent price I would jump all over it. Preferably a Miura SV. This car has been sexy since 1966.

I couldn't spend that much money on a vehicle even if I had it to spare. My next car will more than likely be a WRX or STI with a turbocharged FA20. I'll be keeping the FR-S for my DD once the engine finally goes, we'll c what happens, it'd be nice to be able to drop something else in it instead of buying another car though.

That's why I ended up selling my custom 95 mustang GT, last year of the 5.0....

No, she can drive the mini van or SUV all she wants, I'm having my car and making it the way I want....

Jaden

p.s. I did get in trouble for having a newer car than her...which means in six months, I get to buy her another new car.... arrghhhh

MY ultimate goal...

My ultimate goal is to build a super car from scratch making a hybrid aluminum/silk monocoque chassis and building up a quad turbo 327 small block...

Goal is to keep it under 2000 lbs and making 650 reliable hp with small boost. Considering that the 327 in NA form could make 375 hp, I think it's more than doable.

Reason for the 327???? In Cali a SCV(special created vehicle) registration is based on the first year of creation of the engine or the year of the vehicle it is meant to resemble. My car is a completely original design and 327's first year of production was 1961, I won't even have to have an EGR valve on the bitch...

Of course. Everyone can make all the excuses in the world, but if there's a 458 on your driveway for a day, you'd flog the shit out of it.

The enthusiast loves to make excuses, but in the end...they just soil themselves.

I recently sold my Miata to a friend who writes for Road and Track. He lives a half a continent away. Before agreeing to buy the car sight unseen, he asked if I would let one of his friends drive it. The friend turned out to be R&Ts west coast editor. We had quite a conversation while he was scaring the crap out of me, putting the Miata through its paces. I mentioned I bought an FR-S, he stated that the FR-S had the best handling of any car, short of a 458. I think that says something about our cheap little sports car.
