So far...

Girlfriend likes it a little more than she lets on. (We live together and she put the spare key on her ring the day after I put it in a dresser drawer for safekeeping)
Female friends really like it.
Female family members really like it.
Have caught a few guys circling it in parking lots when I come out but their admiration of the car immediately stops when I approach to enter.
Tons of hate from most men, especially guys who drive trucks or junker Chevy/Pontiac cars. (This is a rural town in Wisconsin)
The most hate comes when people ask about my monthly payment and I tell them I paid full cash for it. (I'm personally happy for friends/family when they can do things like that)
Most common lines I get are "Should have bought a Camaro/Mustang/Charger" and "Should have bought a BRZ/370Z". (Personally don't care. Love the FR-S and it's the right car for me)

Have yet to take it into the Milwaukee area but from what I have read in the Great Lakes forum it should be better received there!

It's been crazy this week..all kinds of thumbs up from other twin owners.

Also had an evo roll down his window on the thruway yesterday to give me a big 'ole thumbs up.

And I had an old couple scream "slow down" last night as I accelerated past, even though I was going about 40 lol...I guess the car looks faster than it is

On and I get the dirtiest looks from dudes in pickup trucks..had a guy saying "sciiiiioooonnnn, ohhhh little sciiiiioooonnnn".. At a red light. Like dude wtf is wrong with you... Lol

I've had a few people just this week ask me what kind of car I was driving as they've never seen one before. That's fine, but these stand out to me because one guy was in a Camaro SS convertible, and the other was driving a late model WRX (i.e. would have thought they were car people).

This. Happens to me all the time. Was prepared for it seeing as I now live in redneck country. Used to get the same stuff in my Celica. Funny that no one ever looked twice at my Mitsu cars even when they were new, lol.

Took the car into Milwaukee today to attend a charity event at a branch of my martial arts school. All my friends there loved it! A bunch of people wanted to see under the hood, asked me to fire it up and give it a few revs. They were shocked that it's RWD. Some thought the stock body is aftermarket. More than a few asked to drive it. Final thought is that while the FR-S may not go over with the redneck crowd it is a definite hit in the city.

I was leaving work and as I pulled to the gates a manager yelled out "You Mother Fuc#%er!". I look at him and he says "you got my dream car!" haha. We talked about the different upgrades I was planning in the future.

My friend has a TC and when he and I sat down and had a few beers, I said "hey man I'm in the Scion club now too" and he just says "Fuck you dude I want the FRS" and we laughed about it

They think I make more $$$ than I do or that I'm still in mommy and daddy's checkbook (I'm 24 and completely on my own from them)...which is insulting because I really don't make that much. Without my fiancé I wouldn't be in this thing. No matter how much I make I wouldn't call a $25,000 "high end" or "pricey" by any means though people just need to grow up.

Garage
Pulled into the station near the apartment after grocery getting, and a convoy of humvees pulled in and filled out the gas station I *was* going to get gas at. The other exit was blocked, so I had to do a u-turn to get out. On my way out, the soldiers pouring out of them gave me a thumbs up and a smile. Apparently they appreciated the visit.

I didn't realized this was a military-related story until I got to "soldiers".

Oh society, with your Hummers and your MTV and your celebrities...
