I would love a Targa though. I owned an '82 Camaro Z28 with an aftermarket Targa top (think Simon&Simon car for anyone familiar with that) and it was great (well except for the whole body flex thing it introduced). |

Technically, it's not impossible to make this hatch <2800lbs. I have several ideas to keep it somewhat low lbs (not lower than coupe, but close)

They will come out and say thanks to the fantastic engineering and/or new blank blank technology we were able to generate more power via FI without any of the weight or lag penalties that were a concern during the initial design. Same thing with the convertible. Thanks to our reverse hyperbolic bathtub design we were able to maintain all the rigidity of the coupe version with only a minimal amount of reinforcement. It's all marketing. I'm sure a convertible version will come just to compete against the miata and I'm sure a turbo will be available to compete against the 370z. |

I'm not a fan of convertibles but that one looks sharp.

A turbo would add some habanero and still partial to a sedan or a vert. Imagine the horror if Toyota released 4dr variants of their previous sports cars; Sports 800, 2000GT, Supra, Corolla and Celica GTS.
I hope they keep the car with minimal variations and not turn it into a 3 series with a couple, sedan, convertible.

Camaro is always on my short list, and I love the new one, but I'm relatively short and the sight picture out the windows doesn't work for me. Still, I wouldn't turn down the ZL1 if they gave it to me. |
