Yep, I learned well the "tuck and roll" technique, falling off my dirt while hill climbing, back in the young 1970s -

Yeah, those statistics and more show that bikes are dangerous as fuck. Sure, drinking alcohol, speeding, and going helmetless make them more dangerous. No matter how you slice it, though, dangerous as fuck.

Fun though.

The great thing about talking to people with short attention spans is that if you don't like the conversation now, come back in 5 minutes!

Garage
Some guy told me about how motorcycles are fun (he rode a GSXR600 and wanted to upgrade to a 1000, saying it was too slow), so I looked into it, and saw too many near-death crashes and was immediately dissuaded. I really wanted to get an old Honda CBR250RR that revs to 19000rpm for the lulz. An EFI conversion would make that thing pretty fast.

I'm gonna try to bring this back on topic... No new cars interest me that much right now. If I had 9 digits or more in net worth then I might grab an NSX and a 911 GT3 just for the heck of it, because at that point I'd have more parking spaces than I know what to do with. They're good cars that don't stand out that much and aren't crazy overpowered. Anything more expensive I would feel uneasy driving. The DB11 is great, but I think they ruined the interior with the MB stuff and the dumb screens on the dash.

I'm very eagerly awaiting the new Lotus models next year. If they disappoint me, I really want to get a 2006-07 V8 Vantage, because I love the silly blinged out dash, the looks, and the sound (more than the V12). It would just be a toy which I drive maybe a few times a month, and I did a bunch of research on maintenance and decided it's not that bad. I would pretty much never wear through brakes and clutch, and the fluids are cheap if you're smart about it. Until I can afford to ball out on carbon fiber wheels (currently Carbonrev wants 11k a set :/), I really have no desire to mod the car aside from a few tiny things, which will also save money haha.

I think I had that very CB in my 1966 Ford Falcon wagon I drove to college. Paid $600 for it. One of those cars I wish I still had in a garage somewhere.

(Not mine, but same model)
