if you are going to buy this car and immediately FI it out the bat, then this car might not be the right car for you. sounds like you want a WRX or STI, or even the focus RS. you will end up paying around the same as those cars (or even more) after you FI and get the supporting mods.
I won't go FI right out of the box. I will drive it first and then make the call.
The other cars WRX STI included are all excellent cars.
But once you sit in the cockpit of the BRZ, you immediately realize it was designed to be a sports coupe.
As compared to the others which are sporty versions of normal or economy cars. No disrespect, the others cars are amazing in their own right.
Sticking with the BRZ for now.

I also thought that I would be going FI from the start until I started actually driving the car. Is it a speed demon? Hell no, but it is also not the "slow" snail that many make it out to be. There are many much smaller mods you can do that will give a modest bump in HP and based on your plans they may be more appropriate.
Now, if you want to kick some 'Stang butt at stop lights or just want HP bragging rights (both perfectly legit reasons for an individual to want) then FI is your answer.
You bring up a good point. I have consciously attempted to not be influenced by the "more power" crowd.
Guess I was a little bit.
From my brief experiences driving this car, it's excellent out of the factory.
You don't get the "shit this is fast" experience when you mash the pedal though. Which is fine. This is not a torque monster.
And no, am not like Dominic Toretto's "live life quarter mile at a time" person.
So yes, I see your point. I will drive it for some time before deciding FI.

As you know these things have only been out for a few years and you can see companies coming out with updated versions form their original designs. ie; V.2 FI kits/ headers.
I agree completely.
I took this driving course recently. It's called Audi Sports car experience at the Sonoma Raceway. It's a little expensive, but totally worth it.
It was a fantastic learning experience. You guys should try it if you are in the area.
I don't have a sports car YET to start autocross. Will get there. Until then, will keep doing such courses.

Having "upgraded" from a lightly modified Wrx to the BRZ this month, I can honestly say I'm not missing the power.

I can take corners much faster in the BRZ even on stock tyres. It drives like a dream!

Video guy is running a vortech SC, no wonder he's having tons of issues

If you go back and read most of my posts you will see over 2 years most of the issues. Most of them are chicken shit problems, some caused by us, some caused by half ass design and support from aftermarket companies and others just relating to modifying a budget platform.

Guy in the video is a Whiny *****.
Thought he was gonna buy the first frs off the lot and
Slap on the first supercharger kit he could find and everything was gonna have factory fit and it was gonna run smooth as silk with a email tune
And have factory warranty and reliability.
Dude has his head up his butt.

If the car is stock you should be fine. Even simple things past stock are fine.
If you don't know how to maintain and repair and deal with the headaches that come with slapping a turbo/supercharger on a car that didn't have one to begin with, then your digging your own grave

You can take a look at the join date of 2012 and all the effort we put into helping this community. From DI, logging, working with tuners, oil temp research on and on.

It's sharing an experience, nothing more. You want perfect experiences go to guys like TJ Hunt who get free stuff and everything done for him so he can advertise how great things are. This forum like most are run by vendors trying to sell sell sell. And the real world is not everything goes smooth. Take it for what its worth but we put more time and hours in here than plenty of the internet racers.

I did learn something about belt routing on the vortech though when I was first looking in to FI.
It's sharing a real world experience. It's snarky and sarcastic.
Spending hundreds of hours on a car will do that to you.

I always liked the car, never liked how it had nerf power output.

It's called sarcasm. 4DSC with a CVT, marketing crap.
We don't get paid to do anything, we test cars and submit bug reports on infotainment, programming and other issues.
