Spec D Exhaust

Hey guys I'm sort of new to this forum. I recently just did my first mod to my 2013 BRZ which was putting in the Spec D exhaust system. With this new exhaust law I'm sort of paranoid driving it around because going from a stock and a super loud exhaust which is similar to the N1 exhaust is huge. I tested the sound decibal on the car and it was from 70-85. Cold start is insanely loud as I try to pull out of neighborhood ASAP. When I got the exhaust system it came with a resonator delete. If I were to tune down the volume how do I go about it. Will putting on silencer help? Maybe taking my stock resonator on the mid pipe and welding that back on? There is a lot of droning in the cabin. Here is a video after the install.

A resonator will add bass but won’t affect volume.

Probably best to post it for sale, and use the proceeds towards an exhaust with a bigger muffler.

Edit: this car is meant to bring joy, self-conciousness is unacceptable.

Adding the silencers should help a little bit, but not a night/day difference. The resonated version of that exhaust still drones, it's the nature of the muffler design being similar to the N1.

Cheap exhausts have their own compromises. You'd be better off sourcing a different catback if drone is a problem for you.

Maybe upgrade to the stock stuff you just took off?

Look elsewhere for enjoyable upgrades.

Order the CSG Touring86 Exhaust. @CSGMike has stated that it meets the new CA dB restrictions. High quality piece, and no worry on sound. Sure you have to spend the money, but you get what you pay for.

Other good option would be Perrin’s 2.5” Resonated CBE.
