Awesome. How much was the antenna? I imagibe those of us with BRZs will have to do even more work due to the satellite radio components. I could care less actually about the satellite radio function and would prefer just a FM radio antenna to catch NPR once in a while.

@Spidey hey man. From your post #66 where you showed your install. Was the wire you solder and passed through the plastic housing for better reception?

Not really sure atm why you did that. Thanks.

So I am curious, I did the gtr antenna mod a while back like 6 months ago and wrapped it in carbon fiber. The thing looks fantastic but lately I have been getting crap reception and when I looked into it, it seems the antenna is grounding out so when the 12V is applied to the amplifier board something shorts and in my case my pioneer head unit kills power to the remote power wire I have wired to it so prevent blowing the fuse or having a electrical fire.

Anybody having shorting issues. I did the soldering and followed the pics and I am no stranger to the soldering iron or electronics.

So I know this is a pretty old thread but it keeps coming alive with new info.

I read through and wasn't really sure. Has anyone gotten a low-pro antenna on a BRZ? (2015 preferred but any works) I know that people have tried but it doesn't all fit with the two antennas we have, or at least that is my understanding. I just really hate the shark fin and the stubby look, so I am hoping someone has it all figured out

Since I don't use Sat radio, and my trial subscription expired anyways, I'm going with the FRS antenna on my breeze. Just waiting for both the Nissan and FRS antennas to arrive.

Still no way to get both in the base without some serious modification. Would probably need to fabricate a new base.

I'm now regretting making a wide body shark fin antenna seeing all this buzz about a small one :P
But i'll finish this one then maybe develop a low profile replacement one if possible.
Funny to see people had the same idea of putting the third brake light in the antenna as that's what I'm putting in mine, will put up photo's of the finished prototype in the following weeks.
