Remove applique?
So I'm one of "those" people who re badged the scion as a Toyota (simply like the gt86 emblem better) but when I bought it, it came with the rear bumper appliqué (2013 AT with premium audio, fogs, etc for 22k, didn't want to argue lol). Has anyone removed tried removing the appliqués, can it be done without much hassel and some goo be gone?

It peels right off. Took me about 30 seconds to remove. Doesn't leave anything and no one will ever know it was there.

Yes, make sure to use heat otherwise it will leave a lot of left over adhesive that is a pain to remove by itself. That applique has ton of glue on it.

Why not just keep it:? It'll protect your trunk from scuffs and scratches (somewhat).

Thanks for your help guys, and exactly humfrz, I don't mind scion, but if if I'm doing a full rebadge (at least exterior), weird to have a giant scion emblazoned on the back lol.

He makes a good point. I removed mine when it was around 90 degrees out so it came off really easy. This time of year is another story.

Removed mine the day I took shipment of it. It left a lot of sticky residue. Tried many things to wash it off, but Goo Gone was the only thing that worked.

Funny, I was thinking about buying the applique to prevent scratches the only problem is getting it on straight and if dirt gathers around the edges over time.

For what it's worth, my trunk appliqué came on the car and does not have "Scion" on it. |

For cold temps, another method is to flush the area with boiling water and then peel. That also assures that you won't exceed 200°F or so and is actually easier on plastic than a high powered heat gun. Bust out the teapot and it'll take less time than it took to boil the water.

Plastidip the area. Much cheaper, don't have to put yet another Scion logo on the car, easier to remove, very durable if applied and cured properly (4-6 coats with 20 mins between coats and 24 hour cure before washing).
