Haha yes which I cant believe.. I forgot to grab a pic before the tow truck came. It broke on the diff side right at the boot. I can grab about 2 inches of the axle before the joint.

I looks to my that you may have had some grease failure. Robi did you change out the grease to something a little more high performance? How did the grease look? runny like eggs?

Usually when that happens in the buggie stuff it's cause the grease is done. It's not looking to good for the longevity of some of the parts on these cars.

we use this it's the best.

I have yet to truely beat on my car yet, no track days or burn outs, and I have a noise occasionally when I back up then go forward. It sounded like a junk cv but I figured I was imagining it. Guess I better check it out.

Looks like the driveshaft angle is a bit severe. How much is the car lowered?

You might have to raise the diff centre.

I am not slammed by any means, but it is about 1 1/2 inches

My brother said the car squats really hard on launch amd when I shift so I am going to stiffen the coils up and see if it does it again but DSS axles will be happening

Can you share any info/threads about anyone doing this?

My 86 is set up for drifting which is also slammed with a lot of camber and I also just broke a bearing casing like in the OP.

I'm looking at the 600HP rated DSS axles but want to try and lower the diff to reduce any additional strain.

Usually it requires cutting the subframe and floor enough to raise the centre , then reinforcing and replating it all. You also have to ensure you have clearance for your tailshaft.

Why does your car need to be slammed for drifting? It is about driving isnt it? Not hard parking?

I got my used axles off eBay, and have not had a problem since I put it back in all I did was stiffened the coilovers when I drag race to keep it from squatting. This axle has at least 20 passes on it
