Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to ask a forum of owners of said cars, and not the car you are getting away from? Lol. I'd say that's something pretty basic, and you don't seem to understand why you're getting such a bad response from majority of people here.

You are 20 and talking about buying $200K cars while still having 3 or 4 years of university left. I do not believe you have any concept of what "financial stability" entails or how quickly that stability can disappear.
But it is your mother's money so spend it as you wish.

if this forum really had users that could give you true opinions on 6 figure cars, then they probably wouldn't be here LOL! What you're asking for is akin to going to McDonalds and asking folks there if they prefer going to Morton's or Fleming's steakhouse for lunch...

We had a guy who gave great advice. Everything worked out great if you did the exact opposite of what he said to do.

George,

First, thanks for taking my comments in the manner in which I intended them.. not confrontationally or to demean you.

Secondly... why in the WORLD would you want or expect your mother to go in debt (that's what financing a car is) so that you could drive an extremely expensive, impractical car? Even if your mother is willing to do that for you, why would you let her? If my wife was willing to sell a kidney so I could have the classic Porsche 911 Carerra I've always dreamed of, I certainly wouldn't let her.

Financing a car is, and I'll use the word, just about the stupidest thing anyone can do. The ONLY time it makes sense is if you NEED a car to get to work so you can support yourself and your loved ones, and you simply don't have the cash available to buy anything remotely reliable. Anything else is just vanity, selfishness, and/or poor financial thinking.

I can't fathom financing any of the vehicles you're considering. Heck, my largest house mortgage was about $120K... and I paid that off as fast as I could. You'd be better off paying cash for a Honda Fit and lighting another $30K on fire just for fun. Of course, it'd be better to just give away that $30K to someone who needs it.

Seriously.

Who lets their mother go into debt so they can drive a vanity vehicle?

Really.

Who?

Shit, when I was in University, my gift to myself for graduating was my old 2013 FR-S.

Sigh, just get the McLaren. Or whatever car fits your flex.

Like I said before I don’t have enough money to just “give away” and financing a car is actually a good option as you can pay it off slowly. I also wouldn’t be looking into a new car if my mum was going to go into debt. If I was getting a Ferrari then that’d be a different story

You just don't get it.

Do you understand what debt is? You live in a fantasy world, uneducated of everything but status and your studies.

I have always understood that financing is the very definition of gathering debt. I am glad to discover that according to Georgie I am actually debt free. I can't wait to go home and tell the wife the good news. We can buy that mansion she wants since we can have the option of paying it off slowly. Surely when the bank talks about 'interest' they only mean that they are curious about the payments.
