I've seen a few people talk about removing the front sway for this.. I may give it a try at the next event and see how she does.

While the car has "enough" lock, I've had quite a few situations with our local layout which is a wide sweeper that narrows down to a "hairpin" of sorts. YOu have to carry quite a bit of angle and speed to get it and there seems to be a fine line with the twins in regards to angle and not being able to bring it back. Hoping maybe something that can give me just a bit more would help.

Here is a video from an event in Orlando from this weekend. Around the 2 minute mark you should see "close to full lock" with the megan inner tie rods.

They make a solid difference for sure. Anybody buying one of these to go drifting, I would recommend these as an immediate purchase when you buy your coilovers and LCAs. Stock angle on these cars is just pitiful.

The tie rods are are very inexpensive solution and add the kind of steering angle these cars should have had from the get go.

Had my first drift event recently at lime rock, i had no clue what I was doing for the first few hours but eventually found flicking/power over to work decently well. I really had no "line" on this course and I don't think i was going fast enough in these runs but any feedback is welcome!

current setup:
fbo, 4.56 final drive, gutted interior ~2500lbs (this is a dedicated track/drift car)
hotchkis springs, subframe bushing inserts, diff brace/bushing inserts
235/45/17 PSS up front 30psi hot
215/45/17 PSS out back (i had 2 used sets) 44psi hot (eventually dropped to 38psi)

I'm going to run another event at the same course in october and don't plan on changing suspension until winter, id like to focus on going faster and transitioning.

current plans during winter: coilovers, SPL LCA/toe/traction, megan tie rods

as for the coilovers, i was leaning towards fortune auto but could use some advice on spring rates

So I lied... Planning on doing at least 2 more events this year.

I have been buying Kenda KR20's in 215/40/17. they are fantastic, but are getting harder to find. I buy them in orders of 10, but i only have 2 fresh pair left and a few scrubs. planing on buying another set of 8 tires for the rest of the year.. Thinking about trying something new.

Has anyone used federal 595S's or 595evo on these cars? they are priced similar, and have a lower UTGQ Rating at 240AAA with the KR20's at 300AAA.
@slava i know you run the Kenda's as well (I think we are the problem with them being out of stock in certain places haha) Have you tried anything else?


With my car on E85 it has no problem with 3rd gear. So i have also been thinking about moving to a 45 series to maybe get a little more wind out of 2nd gear too?

Looking for some feedback.

I run the 595's and I love them! I have use the 595 EVO and they did not last as long. I would get the 595S over the EVO's I have been running them for years now as the tires on my car for daily use and track use. I would recommend them to anyone! I love the price and the life that you get out of them. I would say they are just as good as the Kendas if not better. I say give them a shot.

yup i had 595 on my old S14 in japan. 235/40/18 lasted 2 whole days of 400hp SR20 abuse drifting at Ebisu, and i drove home on them for another 4 hours after that!
they dont get greasy. good control but still pretty easy to kick them out. i cant wait to put a set on my next drift project...


so has anybody tried relocating the sway bar end link mount to the lower control arm, like the PBM angle kit?
